I am pretty new to YA novels. I am really glad I came across this book. It is very refreshing watching a young love blossom. I gave this book a 4 star rating only for one reason. There was never a single "WOW" factor in it. The story is absolutely wonderful but I feel it needed more of a foundation from the beginning.We learn in the beginning that Favor is living with guardians because both of her parents have passed away but there was really no background on Favor other than that. I had several questions in my mind as I read it and it wasn't until the very end that most of those questions were answered. It had the feeling of walking into a movie about 30 minutes after the film started. This really did not take away from the story but it would have helped I think. The fact that there is young romance without raunchy sex is also very nice and uplifting.
The proof readers did a better job than I have seen on many other books of new authors. There were some errors in the beginning but as I passed them and continued reading they all but disappeared. I have instantly become a fan of Lana Long and I do hope she continues down this path she has taken with these novels. I would most definitely give her any of her new work a try.

Just when you think you have things figured out, everything changes. There are some real surprises in this story about love, growth, change, rebellion and seeing if Favor, the main character, is able to work through a tangled web to get to the love she really wants. Can she challenge a wealthy father who holds her future in his hands if she doesn't agree to give up the love of her life?
Lana Long may well be an emerging talent. This book follows the well-known patterns for genre romance, but has some distinguishing characteristics that make it charming and memorable. I liked Favor and the interesting characters around her, but I especially liked the changing dynamics as they all grew and adapted to circumstance. Humans change; it may be the only constant in our lives. Long has captured that well in a promising first novel.

It sucked me in completely. It's about an orphan girl and the family she lives with, their relationships, the way they need each other, and push each other. I think I understand the title now, after reading it- it's not only about she finding herself, as is also about the others finding her.
The only thing I don't understand is her name. It's an unusual name, and as such I think it merited an explanation, but there's none.
This book has a great story and is well written. Favor's own family is all gone and the author does a great job of keeping you in the dark about how she came to live with the Browns. She becomes BFF with Ethan and his father is determined to make sure that is all they ever will be. My heart broke for Favor in parts of the story...it was so emotional! There are some great twists and turns in the story and I honestly wasn't sure how it would end. But, of course, it has a great happy ending...whew!
Sweet and subtle, with just enough drama and mystery to keep you wanting more. Slightly boring in some areas, but altogether, a great book.
Taken in by an old colleague of her Dad's, whereas she's thankful for a roof over her head, some of the family makes her miserable. Years of living with the Brown's, yet she still feels somewhat like an outcast... in love with one of the sons - whom she's signed a contact to stay away from, a daughter who makes her life hell, a mother whom she seems invisible to... is there any light in her life?
This is an interesting book of a young girl who must find her place in her guardian family and in the world of friendships and love. This is not really a romance, but instead it is more a serious drama. It is also fits more within the genre for older teens and young adults. It was pretty clean and I liked it enough to keep reading to find out what would happen to Favor.
Loosely based on a novel by Jane Austen, this contemporary Fanny Price is rather a vapid teenager. This YA romance lacks the discerning eye and social comedy of Jane Austen, whilst not offering any virtues to counterbalance its lacks. I must admit to lack of sympathy with heroines given odd names that are meant to be quirky, so Favour, the heroine's name, was off putting from the beginning. Frankly, Ethan, the romantic lead lacked appeal. Tom, his older brother was far more appealing. He was the truly unselfish one of the trio.
The novel is well written, but there were occasions where words were misused. Allusion instead of illusion, for example. Overal, I found it rather disappointing.
