Robin, Derek and Chris are discovering a world that is made ugly by the many rude people that inhabit it and threaten to bring the siblings down with them. Derek has already fallen, but Robin means to pull her older brother back up, while setting a positive example for Chris. Do you dare follow the courageous youths on their journeys into the dark depths of death metal concerts, comic conventions and retail employment? If you bought this comic, I guess that’s a “yes.”

This comic makes me just want to yell, "YES! SOMEONE GETS IT!"Admittedly, at the beginning, when it was dealing with Christian stereotypes, I wasn't sure I was going to like it, as a Christian-turned-Atheist. However I was able to laugh at the, pretty much, dead-on conceptions that Christians and anti-theists have of one another, and that sometimes, the anti-theists are the ones who are being jerks.
But I digress. I find this comic to be super easy to relate to. In fact, as I said, I felt like someone FINALLY got it. The misconceptions and stereotypes bestowed on people just because of their socially-constructed labels, can be seen in this comic, as well as how people tend to combat them, unrelentingly.
As always, Mr. Davis has created a winner. And this is my favorite, as of right now. I highly recommend reading this, if you have, even a little bit, of trouble, being different, and trouble "adapting" to being different.
I am looking forward to future volumes, for sure.

Cranberry Death Sauce Lee Davis 9781484953600 Books Reviews
Cranberry Death Sauce is Lee Davis' latest work, and, as far as I'm concerned, is some of the best work I've seen out of him. It may seem like a simple 24-page indie comic on the surface, but it's really and truly a VERY enjoyable read.
The humor is spot-on, and had me laughing out loud throughout. Which usually only happens when I read MAD Magazine, Bryan Lee O'Malley's `Scott Pilgrim' or Jeff Smith's `Bone'. I knew I was in for a treat very early into the story, when he captures the entirety of the Death Metal music genre in a single panel. He captures the frustrations of working retail with horrible co-workers SPLENDIDLY. I can relate to that sequence all too well. There's also some great `creepy surrealist' humor (that's the only way to describe it). Simply put, if you've ever laughed at anything Weird Al Yankovic did in the 80's, then the `creepy surrealist' bits will have you rolling. (HINT Lunchtime Larry. You'll love those pages)
Davis is a great writer, and his dialogue is very real-to-life, which is to say, you can read it out loud and it actually sounds like REAL people talking. That's a rare thing for a comic. And he really makes you FEEL for the characters, as well. Especially Robin. I defy you to NOT feel for Robin throughout the book. She is the quintessential Dreamer With the Heart of Gold who is just now getting out into the world, and learning what it's all about.
The artwork is the best I've seen out of Davis, as well. He still maintains a slight leaning towards the stylistic choices of Roman Dirge or Tim Burton, (which is a good thing), but this comic also feels just a bit more... "All Lee". He's really hit his stride, and the work has a LOT of appeal. Even in the slightly creepy moments, it's just work that's... nice to look at.
So! I invite you to give the work a chance. Download it. Laugh at it. Share it your friends. You'll be glad you did, and I for one can't WAIT for Volume 2.
To be honest it was great and a little funny.you can't read it to younger children Mabry around the age of 6-10 can't read this but ifs still great
